As a jewelry designer, people often ask me where I find inspiration. The answer is everywhere! It could be a breathtaking sunset, the intricate pattern on a vintage scarf, or even the vibrant hues of a farmer's market. But for me, the process of turning that inspiration into a cohesive jewelry collection starts with one powerful tool: the color mood board.
A color mood board is more than just a collage of pretty pictures. It's a visual story, a palette of emotions and ideas that guides my creative process. Before I even sketch a single design or choose a single gemstone, I immerse myself in the colors that speak to me. These aren't just random shades; they are the foundation of the collection's entire mood and aesthetic.
For my upcoming Fall/Winter 2025 Collection, my current obsession is a rich, earthy palette. I'm drawn to colors that feel both cozy and sophisticated, and two shades in particular have captured my imagination: Roasted Pecan and Sugar Almond.
Roasted Pecan is a deep, warm brown with golden undertones. It evokes the feeling of a crisp autumn day, the scent of fallen leaves, and the comfort of a warm fireplace. To translate this color into a tangible piece of jewelry, I've chosen the timeless beauty of Smoky Quartz. This gemstone's deep, translucent brown perfectly captures the essence of Roasted Pecan, grounding the designs with an elegant, natural feel.

Sugar Almond is a softer, more delicate shade—a buttery, light brown with a subtle hint of rose. It reminds me of the sweet simplicity of a winter morning, a freshly brewed latte, or a quiet moment of reflection. For this hue, I'm working with the radiant sparkle of Topaz. Its honeyed glow complements the softer tone of Sugar Almond, adding a touch of lightness and warmth to the collection.
By combining these two gemstones, I can create designs that are both rich and airy, warm and bright. The deep brown of the Smoky Quartz provides a strong base, while the Topaz adds a delicate sparkle. This interplay of light and dark, of earthy and ethereal, is what gives the collection its unique character.

So, the next time you see a piece of my jewelry, know that its story began long before the first wire was bent or the first stone was set. It started with a feeling, a color, and a board filled with inspiration—a silent whisper that tells me exactly what the collection wants to be.
