Philly is a city of extraordinary textures, fabulous flavor and color galore. I spend as much time as I can there because its diversity of cultures, its devotion to the arts and its "let's do it all" spirit give me life. With every visit, I'm struck by how nothing ever stays the same - there's always a new adventure, in even the most familiar places, to be experienced!
Check out my latest 60-second ColorStory from the City of Brotherly Love below. And I'm also sharing a place I discovered where dreams come true for the home decor obsessed! Take a look!

Soft. Sensuous. Dreamy. All apropos descriptives for two colors that personify the comfy, cozy lifestyle. But don't be fooled. They have a sneaky way of punching up your home with a vibrancy that can only be described as alive.
There's something so comforting about the elegant living room in the NYC apartment designed by Jamie Drake pictured above. While this color palette is far from traditional, its soothing vibe is warm and inviting. The walls were expertly painted using Salmon Peach by Benjamin Moore Aura and softened with a custom glaze. The steel and pale gray accessories could have made a hard, sharpened contrast but instead complement the calming energy of the room.

The Salmon and Glacier Gray palette get 2 thumbs up for versatility. While it may now be easier for you to envision these colors in an expansive space like a living room, incorporating them cohesively in smaller ways and spaces can be uncomplicated too. Refinishing a desk or uplifting a vanity (see below) can give new life to a home office or bathroom.
You can depend on this color combo to bring the summertime sizzle. Limelight and Sulphur Spring bring new meaning to brightness! It's eye-catching but never gaudy. Always current and filled with the promise of life at its most vivid.
We've been seeing variations of this color duo in fashion for years. Glowy neon yellow-greens have become a staple in activewear and accessories. I designed these Lemon Tree Earrings using these vibrant shades and will always have this palette somewhere within my jewelry collections. But I'm seeing it pop up more for home interiors lately and I love the trend! I'll admit, I'm not brave enough to incorporate it into my home in a substantial way but I will use it to accent in an area that craves energy. The kitchen below has a proportionate balance that refreshes the senses and doesn't overwhelm. This highly functional room is a natural fit for such "health-conscious" colors.
The color palette is so appealing that I've used it in our company branding and incorporated shades of Limelight and Sulphur Spring into my design studio. The matching Slipper Chairs you see below are a steal right now on Amazon (although not currently available in the color shown, Basil Velvet).

A sultry brown hue paired with an ethereal peachy-blush tone makes this color duo a seductive match!
Brown can represent steadfastness and simplicity while light blush colors often signify vigor and freshness. We have paired sweet Glazed Ginger with the delicate and graceful Bellini is a yin and yang combo. perfect for classic styles, moods and even flavors.
One of my favorite flavor pairings is ginger and peach. The pungency of ginger actually contrasts with the full fruitiness of peach but for my palate, they're a match made in food nirvana. I like to use this flavor mix for many recipes, but cocktails are my favorite. I'm currently captivated by this Ginger Peach Bellini from Daily Waffle! You will understand my obsession once you try the recipe below.
4 oz. prosecco (La Marca is slightly sweet and makes for a nice Bellini)
1. Pour 2 oz. of ginger peach syrup into a champagne flute. Top with prosecco. Yep, that's it.
Energy opposites attract with this Color Craze twosome, and what better way to celebrate a strong coupling than with looks that are sure to WOW! I've curated 2 style boards below. The first look is with pieces that can easily work for an evening out with your partner or a daytime wedding. Go forth and SHOP!
I'm so inspired by this tasty color pairing for fashion, food and home decor. I'd love to see your favorite ways to use Bellini and Glazed Ginger together or individually by sharing your style with us on Instagram or Facebook.

Placid Blue and Yellow Pear together make me smile. The pleasant print you see above in these happy colors makes me almost love the idea of wallpaper. (gasp!) But alas, the thought has now been pushed from my decorative consciousness. It says a lot about this color duo if its prettiness invited me to have a brief visit to the mystical land of wall coverings. No offense to those who can appreciate the wonders of latex, vinyl and adhesive. I personally have more of an aesthetic connection to paint, brushes and rollers. Nevertheless, these hues are a perfectly refreshing pairing for any room in your home, no matter how the colors are applied.
If your passion is fashion then you'll love how these pretty pastel colors work into your already existing wardrobe or how you can create great Spring and Summer looks for that daytime wedding and reception without looking too precious by adding few new pieces that I've recently uncovered on Amazon Fashion, all at incredible prices. Check out my Style Board picks in Placid Yellow and Yellow Pear color palette below for shopping details!
fresh, clean, invigorating and calming all at once. blues and greens are natural palette companions but this duo has a special relationship. often paired in real-life depictions of the richness of our fertile planet, we are reminded of the beauty of Earth and asked to respect it as our one and only universal home.
while I have enjoyed working with these life-affirming colors in preparation for creating this post, they reminded me of how easy it is to forget that many parts of the world are still recovering from the effects of weather-related disasters. Parts of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are still rebuilding from hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. Join me in support of the rebuilding of the US Virgin Islands by donating to The Fund for the Virgin Islands Hurricane Relief today.
when Spring arrives, it's always my signal to give my home a new feel, a freshening. and since the new season is very near, I've been on the hunt for a few key pieces that will add clean luminosity to those spaces that are crying out for an uplift. here are my 7 home furnishing fab finds in the Caneel Bay Blue and Sea Green color palette that you can add to your space for extra contrast and vibrancy:
This duo brings passion, high energy, happiness and the joy of the summer season. And with current temperatures not willing to climb higher than subzero in some places, we could all use a little boost from the hotness of this color combo.
There isn't any reason why Summer can't be eternal. Spectra Yellow embraces happiness and throws it back out to you with full-on bright. Flame brings the heat and adds spice to the mix. Let's revel in this color mashup! colorful cocktails are on me and a traditional Tequila Sunrise is on the menu (my favorite super simple recipe is below).
Stir or shake together tequila and orange juice. Fill a chilled 12-ounce glass with ice cubes; pour in orange juice mixture. Slowly pour in the grenadine, and allow it to settle to the bottom of the glass (be patient). Garnish with a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry. Enjoy!
It is not my intention to rush the seasons here with this warm weather-centric style board. I'm just sharing a few special beach-worthy items in colors guaranteed to take the chill off when the time is right. Of course, if a trip to the Caribbean or some other hot location is in your immediate future, snap your favorites up now!
when the temps are high, you'll feel cool and light wearing these colors. eachhue can stand on its own as clean and pure but the mix is incredibly refreshing and invigorating. whether you choose to wear a pop or go head to toe, indulge in luscious lavender and modern mint.
