The Greens

The Greens
green /ɡrēn/
adjective
1. of the color between blue and yellow in the spectrum; colored like grass or emeralds.

Green Natural Gemstones

For me, the color green signifies an abundant life in harmony, and supremely good health - all things that are important for my overall wellbeing. I've carried my adoration of the hue into my business with our company logo in 4 ombre green leaves, each representing a part of the foundation of our organization's core values: a passion for color, a love of design, respect for our community and a commitment to service to others.

I hope you love the products I recommend! Detox Spinach Green Smoothie

One of my self-care rituals is a regular detox day consisting of yoga, meditation, lots of rest and a juice or smoothie cleanse. I feel that giving my mind and digestive system a break is one of the best things I can do to help create balance, replenish my energy and maintain my glow. Lately, I've been whipping up this absolutely delightful, deliciously simple Detox Spinach Green Smoothie that I discovered on the food blog, Vibrant Plate. Give the recipe below a try the next time you want a healthy treat!

Detox Spinach Green Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup young spinach leaves
  • 1 lime (or orange, lemon)
  • water as needed (I substitute unsweetened green tea)

Instructions

  1. Peel bananas and apple, cut into slices and put into a blender. Wash spinach leaves and add to blender. Squeeze juice of 1 lime (can be replaced with orange or lemon) into the blender.
  2. Add water or green tea as needed.
  3. Blend until smooth (I use my trusty Vitamix) and serve.

The Color Lab Blog - Green Handbags

Of course, my obsession with green wouldn't be a real thing if it didn't continue in my closet. I use the vibrancy of the hue to liven neutral looks - tans, beiges and browns never had a better partner. Colorful accessories, like the handbags I found and love above, are a major way to make a dynamic impact with any outfit and adding almost any shade of green will take your OOTD to bright, exciting levels.

Caneel Bay Blue and Sea Green

fresh, clean, invigorating and calming all at once. blues and greens are natural palette companions but this duo has a special relationship. often paired in real-life depictions of the richness of our fertile planet, we are reminded of the beauty of Earth and asked to respect it as our one and only universal home.

while I have enjoyed working with these life-affirming colors in preparation for creating this post, they reminded me of how easy it is to forget that many parts of the world are still recovering from the effects of weather-related disasters. Parts of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are still rebuilding from hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. Spectra Yellow and Flame

This duo brings passion, high energy, happiness and the joy of the summer season. And with current temperatures not willing to climb higher than subzero in some places, we could all use a little boost from the hotness of this color combo.

Red Orange and Yellow Sunset

There isn't any reason why Summer can't be eternal. Spectra Yellow embraces happiness and throws it back out to you with full-on bright. Flame brings the heat and adds spice to the mix. Let's revel in this color mashup! colorful cocktails are on me and a traditional Tequila Sunrise is on the menu (my favorite super simple recipe is below).

Tequila Sunrise

Tequila Sunrise (from squawk93 on @allrecipes)

Olive Oil and Sangria

Olive Oil and Sangria

a savory, sumptuous color duo that's decadent, rich and full of flavor.

Color Craze: Olive Oil and Sangria - Painting by Unknown ArtistBenjamin Moore Paints show you just how grand this color combo can be when used in a small space. the left side of the image below looks like a one piece sitting/wall unit but it is actually a clever use of their paint color, Vintage Wine and strategically placed shelving and antiqued clothing hooks highlighted by Olive Tree walls.

the right side of the image creatively illustrates an eclectic use of furniture and accessories in the complementary colors to form a sophisticated reading space.

Living Coral

Pantone Color of the Year 2019 - Living Coral

vibrant. energetic. alive. Pantone's Color of the Year for 2019 is a reminder that despite the refreshing chill of winter hues, spring and summer colors reign vibrantly supreme.

Living Coral

traditionally a color with popularity in beauty and fashion, Living Coral is versatile. use it to add eye-catching elements to your home. here are a few products our CEO/Creative Director, Juliet loves for incorporating the color into a neutral palette in your kitchen or on your dining table:

Ways to use Living Coral in your kitchen or dining space

While we are enamored with Living Coral, we would be remiss if we didn't acknowledge that the name of the color reminds us that coral reefs around the world are suffering. Why care about reefs? Here's what we found on coral.org

Coral reefs are an important food source for the people who live near reefs, and, as nurseries, are vital to the world’s fisheries. Many of the compounds now being used in human medicines, including some that treat cancer, are found on coral reefs, with probably many more yet to be discovered. Coral reefs help humans in many other ways too: generating tourist dollars for communities, and—especially important in our changing climate—acting as natural barriers against storm events like hurricanes, typhoons, and even tsunamis.

These are compelling reasons and why we are donating 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the coral colored enamel bangle bracelets on eBay to the Coral Reef Alliance
